Iremia - A Beautiful Villa with pool - For your holidays in Greece

Iremia - meaning "tranquility; peacefulness" in Greek is an old stone village house at the outer edge of Kounoupitsa, on the Methana peninsula.

With accommodation for up to nine people, this villa sits on a quiet hillside with uninterrupted views across the Saronic Gulf to the Peleponese, Corinth and the islands of Angistri, Salamina, and Aegina with the quiet waters of the Aegean below.

Sitting Room

The villa, which is very private, was completely re-built and fitted 3 years ago to its present very high standard. From the village square in Kounoupitsa where you can park your car, there is a 300m walk through the beautiful old village and a meadow with fig and olive trees to reach the house. There you can totally relax in the infinity pool - or bask in the sunshine at the poolside. Or you can read in the shade of the loggia. You can swim in the sea at Agios Giorgios further down the hillside - if you can take your eyes off the view. But the idea is you can stop!

With no roads or nearby traffic Iremia lives up to its name. The only sounds are those of nature and the ocasional passing fisherman in his boat, some 200m below. Iremia is the perfect setting for a quiet, secluded holiday.

Bedroom

Methana is a small peninsula just west of the famous island of Poros. Methana town boasts the best sheltered marina in the Saronic Gulf as well as a famous hot spring spa. There are many restaurants which lay out their tables on the seafront during the summer months and where you can watch the evening activity on the quayside and water, whilst indulging yourself in the fresh local delicacies. There is the picturesque fishing port of Vathi further around Methana's coast to the West and the site of an extinct volcanco which you are able to climb (stout footwear advised!).

To the east are the charming villages of Agios Giorgos, right on the edge of the sea with a beautiful harbour and seaside restaurants, as well as Kounoupitsa itself, perched on the hillside with its commanding views of the gulf.

For a day trip we recommend Poros or the famous island of Hydra - both within easy reach by the reliable and regular ferry services that ply their way through these little islands. Or by car, you can reach the ancient site of Epidaurus with its famous open air theatre within an hour's drive from Methana.
